HigherDOSE Infrared Sauna Blanket

Our verdict

HigherDOSE made the infrared sauna blanket category mainstream and the current generation is the one to buy if you want the most refined experience in the format. It heats to about 158°F in under 10 minutes, layers amethyst, tourmaline, charcoal, and clay into the inner heating panel, and folds into a 24 inch drawer when you are done. It is single-person, single-purpose, and exactly the right tool for an apartment or any space that cannot host a cabin.

Pros

  • Heats fast
  • Stores anywhere
  • Responsive support

Cons

  • Single-person
  • Not as immersive as a cabin

Design & build

The blanket has a five-layer construction with the heating element sandwiched between mineral and conductive layers. The inner liner is medical-grade PU; HigherDOSE publishes the materials disclosure and third-party EMF testing on the product page.

It folds flat (no rigid frame), which is the entire reason the format exists, your sauna lives under your bed or in a drawer between uses. The included controller is a small in-line unit with three temperature presets.

Setup

Setup is under 60 seconds: unfold on a bed, couch, or yoga mat, plug into a standard 120V outlet, set the temperature, climb in. Total floor space required is roughly 6 feet by 3 feet during a session and zero between sessions.

HigherDOSE strongly recommends a separate cotton insert layer (sold separately, or any long-sleeve cotton outfit) between your skin and the inner liner. This is for hygiene, not safety, but it makes the blanket dramatically nicer to live with over months of use.

Performance

Heat-up time to the 140°F band is consistently under 10 minutes; the 158°F top setting takes 12 to 15 minutes from cold. Owners report a heavy sweat by minute 20 and most users hold a 30 to 40 minute session comfortably.

It will not match the radiant feel of a full cabin, head and shoulders stay at room temperature, but the cardiovascular and sweat response is real. For a daily 30 to 45 minute session in a small space, it is the best-executed product in its category.

Temperature & insulation

Three presets in the 130 to 158°F range. The blanket holds the set temperature steadily once preheated; expect a small ramp-down as your body absorbs heat in the first 5 minutes, then stable hold for the remainder of the session.

Maintenance

Wipe the inner liner with a damp cloth and mild non-bleach cleaner after each session. Let it air out fully (10 to 20 minutes unzipped on the bed) before folding. Store flat or loosely rolled, never tightly creased on the heating panel.

Warranty & support

HigherDOSE ships with a 1-year warranty on the blanket and controller. Support is responsive and U.S.-based; replacement controllers are available without returning the blanket itself, which is the right policy for the format.

Who should buy it

Apartment dwellers and anyone who wants infrared heat without a cabin.

Who should skip it

Buyers who want a shared session experience (the blanket is strictly single-person), anyone whose hands need to be free during a session (the closed format limits movement), and users sensitive to enclosed spaces who would do better with a cabin.
